[ARCHIVED] Citizens asked to remove vehicles from downtown streets for snow removal

The City of Cumberland has contracted with Carl Belt, Inc. to remove snow in the downtown area this evening and throughout the night, January 25, 2016 from 7:00 PM until 7:00 AM. The contractor will be working to remove snow piles and clear areas for parking in the business areas of Mechanic and Centre Streets from the Centre Street viaduct to Wendy’s and including all connecting streets, as well as the area of George, Union and Harrison Streets, and Butler Alley.

Citizens and businesses are asked to assist with the snow removal by moving their vehicles from affected streets during this time period. Free parking in the George Street garage will be available throughout this week and citizens are encouraged to utilize this facility for parking.
