City of Cumberland public works crews will continue to work over the next several days to clear snow from city streets, according to Jeff Rhodes, City Administrator. “Due to the significant amount of accumulation, parking in the downtown area is extremely limited and crews will be working to relocate the piled snow to alternate areas,” stated Rhodes.
Rhodes advised that the City will offer free parking in the George Street Garage throughout the week and asks for the cooperation of downtown businesses and citizens to use the parking garage until the snow can be cleared. “If citizens and businesses take advantage of the free parking in the garage, the crews will have better access to the streets, allowing the snow to be cleaned up as quickly as possible.”
