[ARCHIVED] Ken Tressler to Serve as New City Comptroller

Cumberland City Administrator Jeff Rhodes has announced that Kenneth R. Tressler will return to the City of Cumberland as Comptroller effective February 8, 2016. Tressler, a Garrett County native, served in this same capacity at the City from 1995 to 2000.

In making the announcement, Rhodes stated, “I am extremely pleased to be able to announce the return of Ken Tressler as the City’s Comptroller. During Ken’s initial tenure with the organization, the City of Cumberland benefited from solid financial performance every year and we look forward to Ken helping us return to those more prosperous days. The Comptroller’s position is a key position in our organization and having the right person is vital to the City’s financial health. Simply put, Ken is one of the brightest financial minds I have met in my twenty-five years of public service, and we are fortunate to have him back,” Rhodes added.

After leaving the City organization in 2000, Tressler went on to an impressive private sector career that included roles as Director of Finance, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President at several local corporations.
