Christmas trees may be placed at the curb during regular trash days for disposal.

City residents interested in recycling their Christmas trees may take them to the Penn-Mar Recycling Center, which is located in the Riverside Industrial Park, 975 Kelly Road (behind the Allegany County office complex). Trees must be free of ornaments, lights, and tinsel and may be taken to this location seven days a week from dawn to dusk until Saturday, January 16, 2016. Trees may also be taken to the Allegany County Compost Site, North Branch Industrial Park, 11700 PPG Road (off of Maryland Route 51, across from the former PPG Plant) on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
