[ARCHIVED] Live Christmas Tree Disposal and Recycling Information

Christmas Tree Disposal or Recycling in the City of Cumberland

At the end of the Holiday season, live Christmas trees can be disposed of or recycled in the City of Cumberland.  To recycle retired live Christmas trees remove all ornaments, lights and tinsel and drop it off at the County Mulch & Yard Trim Recycling Site, 11700 PPG Road, North Branch Industrial Park, off of Route 51, Cumberland. Remember that no flocked trees are accepted for recycling.

If you are unable to transport your tree to the recycling site, trees may be disposed instead. Simply put your retired live Christmas tree on the curb with your trash on any of your regularly scheduled trash collection days.

Questions about Christmas tree recycling or the County Mulch Site can be directed by phone to 301-777-5933, ext. 359 or by email recycling@alleganygov.org . Questions about Christmas tree disposal can be directed to 301-759-6604.
