[ARCHIVED] NOTICE: Public Hearing to be held October 19th regarding establishment of Floating Zone

Legal Notice

Applicant Rick Toms, owner of property located at 718 Frederick Street, has made application to the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland (ZMA #21-01) to rezone said property from R-U, Urban Residential, to a RR (Rehabilitation and Redevelopment) Floating Zone in accordance with Article XV, Section 25-439 of the City Code. 

The purpose of the proposed Zoning Map Amendment is to apply the Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Floating Zone District to property to re-establish a former commercial use designation for the ground floor of the two-story building. 

The Mayor and City Council of Cumberland will hold a public hearing on this proposed Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA #21-01) during their regular public meeting on October 19, 2021, at 6:15 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 57 N. Liberty Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.  At the public hearing, the Mayor and Council will discuss the application and hear public comment on the proposed amendment.  Interested persons should plan to attend this hearing.

A copy of the application and staff report is on file and available for public inspection during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday) at the Department of Community Development, located in the lower level of City Hall at 57 North Liberty Street, Cumberland, Maryland.  Questions regarding this petition should be directed to Morgan Alban, GIS Specialist at 301-759-6609 or by email at morgan.alban@cumberlandmd.gov.
