Residents are advised that the Baltimore Street Bridge will be closed prior to the start of the downtown Cumberland fireworks celebration to be held at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
To accommodate the setup and clean-up of the fireworks, Baltimore Street will be closed to vehicular and foot traffic from Greene Street to Mechanic Street on Monday night, December 31st, from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Greene Street and Mechanic Street will remain open, however.
City officials recommend that travelers from the Westside going to the New Year’s Eve celebration use an alternate route of Cumberland Street to Market Street to Mechanic Street to get to the downtown.
