[ARCHIVED] Tire Recycling Event

TIRES 2018 Document

The Allegany County Commissioners encourage all Allegany County residents to take advantage of an upcoming opportunity to recycle unwanted tires. This event will be on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Allegany County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This event is restricted to Allegany County residents. A valid driver’s license is required. Each resident may dispose of a maximum of 20 tires. Residents with more than 20 tires must contact the Recycling Office by Friday, September 28 for authorization.

Tires from passenger vehicles and light trucks will be accepted. Tires with rims will be accepted. Standing water and debris have to be removed before disposal. Tires from businesses and commercial entities will not be accepted.

This event ensures the safe and legal disposition of all accepted tires according to the United Sates Environmental Protection Agency guidelines. The disposal fee is one dollar per tire (cash only).

Questions may be directed to Allegany County Recycling Coordinator Siera N. Wigfield, 301-777-5933 X 210, recycling@alleganygov.org.
