[ARCHIVED] City changes Utility Billing software - payment office closed 7/30/18

City changes Utility Billing software - payment office closed 7/30/18

On July 30th, 2018, the City of Cumberland will complete their process of upgrading/replacing the software they use to create Utility bills, and to provide service to our Utility (water, sewer, trash) customers. This will require having the payment office closed on that day; payments can still be made via the drop boxes at City Hall and on Bedford Street, or online at http://www.ci.cumberland.md.us/

After the required bidding process, the members on the decision-making committee chose Link Computer Corporation, a Bellwood, Pennsylvania company, and their Muni-Link program  - software “designed with input from four Municipal Authorities”  (https://muni-link.com/about).

The upgrade will provide a number of improvements in the billing process, creating a better, more efficient experience for not only the customer at the counter, but also customers accessing their account information from anywhere with an internet connection, using a PC or mobile devices.

Another addition: customers will now have the option of receiving their monthly bills electronically, reducing money currently spent on printing, folding and mailing a paper bill.

Questions about the new software may be emailed to brian.glisan@cumberlandmd.gov
