[ARCHIVED] Cumberland Street Bridge to Close

The City of Cumberland is advising the public that the CSX owned Cumberland Street Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic as a result of a recent engineering inspection.  The bridge will be closed by end of the business day Friday November 17, 2017 remain closed for an undetermined period of time.  The bridge will remain open to pedestrians at this time but motorists are advised to use Smallwood Street to Washington Street or Greene Street as a detour around the bridge.  Smallwood Street will become a two way street between Fayette Street and Cumberland Street.  Parking will remain on the current side in the opposite parking direction. While the City regrets this inconvenience, public safety is most important and cooperation of the motoring public is appreciated.
