[ARCHIVED] Polling location at Emmanuel Episcopal will be accessible during valve replacement project

In anticipation of the closing of portions of Greene Street and Baltimore Street on April 25 and April 26 to accommodate a critical valve replacement project at the intersection of Washington and Greene Streets, the City of Cumberland and the Allegany County Board of Elections would like to ensure citizens that the polling location for District 6, Precinct 1 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Hall on Washington Street will be open and accessible for voters for the Primary Election on Tuesday, April 26th from the hours of 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

Commencing Monday at 5:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m., and again Tuesday from 5:00 a.m. until approximately 8:00 p.m., the valve replacement project will require that Greene Street be closed from the area of the intersection at the Blue Bridge to the Washington and Green Streets intersection. The Baltimore Street Bridge will also be closed to traffic during these times.

Voters are encouraged to plan ahead and choose a route to the polling location that avoids these affected areas.

Questions regarding this matter may be directed to the Department of Engineering at 301-759-6600 or the Allegany County Board of Elections at 301-777-5931.
