Cumberland Downtown Development Commission and Canal Place announce 1st Annual Winter Festival & Market

The 1st Annual Cumberland Winter Festival & Market will take place on three Saturdays - November 25 and December 2 and 9 at Canal Place Plaza from 5PM-9PM each evening. Due to ongoing construction in downtown Cumberland, the Downtown Development Commission will hold the event at the Canal Place Plaza this year, with plans to move the event back to the newly renovated city center when construction is complete.

Prepare to be enchanted as Canal Place Plaza will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with hot chocolate and holiday decorations. Stroll through the North Pole, snap a family photo at the photo station, and vote for your favorite bicycle in the winter-themed bike decorating contest. There will be Reindeer Games for families and Making Spirits Bright for adults, ensuring that there is something for everyone. Remember to check out the Market, where you can find unique holiday gifts for your loved ones from merchants, artisans, and food vendors, then visit our free gift wrapping station.  Take advantage of the opportunity to experience the festive season and live musical performances that will keep you entertained throughout the evening.

"This event was made possible thanks to generous grants received from The Passages of Western Potomac Heritage Area (Canal Place) and the American Rescue Plan Act. We would love to see you at the festival and share in the magic of the holiday season, while supporting local businesses and artists" says Melinda Kelleher, Executive Director for the Downtown Development Commission.

Vendor information will be released in the next couple of weeks. All vendor booths can be reserved at no charge. For updated information, follow the DDC's Facebook page - @historicdowntowncumberland or the website, https://reimaginecumberland.com/.
