[ARCHIVED] City Residents Encouraged to Remove Snow From Sidewalks

The City of Cumberland is advising residents and property owners to take advantage of warming temperatures to clear sidewalks of snow that has collected from the recent winter storm event.

While the storm resulted in an excess amount of accumulation for the area, the current warming temperatures provide an opportunity to catch up on the removal of snow from business and residential sidewalks. Removal is particularly important in high foot-traffic locations such as school zones, and the City will be monitoring these areas to ensure that students have safe use of the sidewalks in their routes to and from school.

The City appreciates the cooperation of residents and property owners at this time.

Questions may be directed to the City Administrator’s office at 301-759-6424.
